The Library Society of Dharmaraja College successfully hosted Viyathsara 2025, a monumental event marking the school's Inaugural Library Day. The program was meticulously structured to foster intellectual growth, beginning with Intra-school Competitions on October 23, 2025, followed by Inter-school Competitions on November 3, 2025. This ambitious initiative drew an impressive crowd of over 750 contestants from 25 invited schools, showcasing a vibrant spirit of literary appreciation.
The grand finale reached its peak during the Awarding Ceremony held on March 30, 2026. The event was graced by Mr. Mahesh Karunarathne, Vice Principal, as Chief Guest, and Miss Chathuri Damayanthi as the Guest of Honour. As an accomplished scholar and keynote speaker, Miss Damayanthi's presence added significant academic depth, inspiring young writers and readers to pursue excellence in Sinhala literature and communication.
The competitive spirit of the festival saw remarkable talent from across the region. Mahamaya Girls' College emerged as the Overall Champions, demonstrating exceptional literary prowess, while Swarnamali Girls' College secured the title of Overall First Runner-up. Viyathsara 2025 has now established a prestigious new tradition for the Dharmaraja College Library Society, cementing its role as a cornerstone of cultural excellence.
