The Prize Giving 2011 ,the most glamorous event for the year was held on Saturday the 14th of July 2012 under the distinguished patronage of Hon. Gotabaya Rajapakse ,the Secretary to the Ministry of Defense & Urban Development Authority. Distributing prizes among almost 300 winners it was a new experience for all the winners as well as the invitees as the Chief Guest was very keen in taking with the winners. Amila Ruwansiri Silva who was an active member of the Eastern Music Society, won all island competitions from 2003 to 2010, a member of the Drama and theatre Society , participated at All Island Competitions. A regular participant at the College ‘Kala Ulela’ and has won several Literary Prizes. Represented the college soccer team from 2003 to 2010 and was selected to represent the central province Soccer team in 2005. Represented the under 15 Central Province soccer team at the all island soccer competition conduct by the Sri Lanka Football Federation. Represented the College Chess team from 1998 to 2009 and won the second place in All Island Inter school chess championship in 2004.Won a certificate of merit for his performances in chess in the year 2005. An Active member of the Science Society , Astronomy Society and the Science Quiz Team. He was also a member of the junior Board of Prefects, Captain of the Ananda house football team and the Chess Team. Showed excellent Performances in his academic career, obtained 8 distinctions at his O/L Examination held in year 2008. Sat the G.C.E.(A/L) Examination in the year 2011 in the Physical Science Stream obtained 3 distinctions securing the Island rank 3 to enter the faculty of Engineering .
