His Excellency Mahinda Rajapaksa, the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka was the Chief Guest at the Annual Prize Giving for the year 2010 which was held on 5th July at the College Auditorium which a part of 125 year anniversary celebrations where 340 students received prizes from His Excellency. Minister of Education Hon Bandula Gunawardana , Minister of Mass Media and Communication Hon. Keheliya Rambukwella Deputy Minister Lalith Dissanayake, Governor of Central Province , Chief Minister of Central Province were among the distinguished guests. Laksara Vindya Dulaj Gunawardhana was the Best All rounder being the Gold Medal Winner at the Sri Lankan Physics Olympiad Competition in 2010. Won a Silver Medal and a High Distinction at the Sri Lankan Mathematical Plympiad Competition in 2010. Participated at the 12th Asian Physics Olympaid held in Tel – Aviv , Israel in May 2011. Obtained a distinction at the senior certificate examination in Western Music and speech. Contribute much , being an active member of the Scout Group and won the District Commissioner’s Award in 2005. Member of the Western Cadet Band, Captain of the Science Quiz Team, Played for the College under 17 'B' Division Badminton. Showed excellent performances throughout his academic career and obtained 3 distinctions at the G.C.E. A/L Examination, 2010. Securing the District Rank 7 and Island Rank 48 to enter the faculty of Engineering. The achievements of students was very much appreciated and Complimented by His Excellency Mahinda Rajapaksa the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
